It is important to bear in mind that Korn/Ferry International works exclusively for corporations and other organizations. We provide services such as Executive Search and Strategic Management Assessment for organizations. We do not provide services for executives, such as outplacement and resume analysis, among others.

However, you may submit your resume and we will send it to our database, where it will be available to Korn/Ferry International consultants who will contact you when an opportunity arises that fits your profile. We cannot, however, tell you the exact time this might be.

Answer: Yes, although Korn/Ferry works exclusively for companies, we can help you in some parts of career management, such as in preparing a Digital Resume. We can also include your resume in our worldwide database, offering international possibilities that may promote your career.

Answer: In Brazil we still focus only on middle and top management, but our site has interesting and useful information for trainees, recent graduates, graduate students and other professionals. This is available in the form of articles, publications, news, events and the MBA Jungle.

Answer: No, using e-kornferry to send your resume automatically includes it in the Korn/Ferry database, thus making it available to our consultants.

Would it be appropriate to call and check on my resume? When will I be called for a Korn/Ferry search?

Answer: There is no need to call. Actually, there is no way to determine when an executive will be called for a Korn/Ferry search. This depends on how well the executive fits the profile of our searches.

How often should I update my data at Korn/Ferry? Why is this important?

Answer: Updating your information is important, as we use our database on a daily basis to find executives that fit the profile of our searches. Up to date information means you can be easily located for consideration.

Ideally you should update the information whenever there is a significant change in your career – a change in job, position, responsibility or compensation. Also do not forget to communicate changes of address and phone number.

Can Korn/Ferry present me to a client independent of the existence of a search process?

Answer: No, Korn/Ferry works exclusively for companies and contacts executives only in the context of an ongoing search. Working for executives simultaneous goes against the Korn/Ferry code of ethics.

Will I be able to take part in more than one search at a time?

Answer: No, each executive is considered for one search at a time. If you agree to participate in a search you remain part of the project for as long as you want, or until the client makes a proposal or frees your name to return to our database.

I have been contacted by Korn/Ferry. What now?

Answer: Korn/Ferry contacts executives for two basic reasons: to ask them about participating in a search or to ask for references for candidates who are already part of a search.

In the first case, Korn/Ferry will describe the project it is working on, providing relevant information according to the instructions received from the client. We will verify if you fit the position and are available to participate in the search.

In the second case, your name was provided by a candidate who is part of an ongoing Korn/Ferry search, and who authorized us to contact you for professional references.

How can I be sure that Korn/Ferry will keep my information confidential?

Answer: Confidentiality is a cornerstone of the Korn/Ferry standard of quality, and we are proud of our unimpeachable history of professional integrity. At Korn/Ferry we are committed to protecting your privacy. We will use the information provided only to identify professional opportunities and bring them to you. The information obtained from candidates is securely stored in our database, which employs state-of-the art security technology.

We should point out that, under no circumstance, will Korn/Ferry transfer information provided by you to any organization or person outside of Korn/Ferry without your authorization. This includes our clients as well, given that you will be questioned as to your interest in being presented as a candidate in any Korn/Ferry search.

If Korn/Ferry’s clients are companies, how can I be sure that I will be handled properly?

Answer: Although Korn/Ferry works for companies, maintaining good relationships with candidates and executives is essential for our business. Why should I register my resume on ekornferry, instead of just using one of the e-mails provided to send it in (faleconosco@kornferry.com or resumes.brazil@kornferry.com)?

Answer: There are three reasons for this:
I. When you register your resume you become the “owner” of the data. They are in the system as read only and only you can change them.
II. The best way to ensure impartial searches is to do a first triage using technology, which is quickly done using ekornferry.
III. ekornferry is the Korn/Ferry International global database, and is accessed by consultants from our offices across the world. This greatly expands your opportunities.

Could my boss or anyone else from my employer read my information on ekornferry? What about within Korn/Ferry, who has access? Can the data be altered by these people?

Answer: The answer to the first question is no. Korn/Ferry International professionals will have access to your data when you become a potential search candidate. When you register your resume with ekornferry you have access only to your own information and it is read only. In other words, you “own and manage” the data and we cannot change it.

I went into the ekornferry “Opportunities” page and saw that there are only a few positions listed in Brazil. Are these the only positions Korn/Ferry is working on in Brazil at this time?

Answer: Korn/Ferry International has a significant number of ongoing projects in Brazil. The reason only a few positions are listed on the Opportunities page is due to the confidential nature of the projects or, in some cases, because target search candidates for certain positions tend not to be Internet users.

Should I register my resume in English or can I do it in Portuguese?

Answer: We strongly recommend that you register your resume in English so as to increase your changes for positions that demand English language skills. Although there is no impediment to using Portuguese, you should remember that this is a global database and by having your resume in English you will make it available to Korn/Ferry International consultants worldwide, thus optimizing your chances of being contacted.

Why does ekornferry not request certain information, such as age and marital status?

Answer: Ekornferry is a global database and therefore we must comply with international regulations that ensure equal opportunities to all qualified candidates, regardless of age, marital status, ethnic background or religious belief.

Why do I need to identify myself in such detail on ekornferry if this tool allows me to upload documents that already contain all this?

Answer: Current search technology will only locate keywords within the database, and not keywords contained in documents that are uploaded.
